At Tennessee Christian

Central to our mission is our Christ-centered approach. We endeavor to integrate faith into all aspects of learning, guiding our students to understand the significance of their beliefs in shaping their character, values, and actions (Colossians 3:2-3). Through teaching rooted in Christ’s love and compassion, we aim to inspire our students with a greater sense of purpose and moral direction (Matthew 20:25-28). 

Admissions Process

Our admissions process is intentionally holistic, considering both the student and the family to ensure a strong “right fit” and a successful partnership between school and home. Throughout the process, an applicant’s overall well-being and readiness are evaluated to best determine if the partnership between family and school can be established. Admission to Tennessee Christian is a privilege, not a right.

It's important to know that each step of a family's pursuit for enrollment is both carefully evaluated and consistently prayed over by our Admissions Committee. 

 


Admission Steps: Enrollment For Our Newest Hawks
Step 1: Inquire & Tour

Fill out an Interest Form and let us know about your students.

We will schedule a time meet and tour your family around our campus.

Step 2: Apply

To begin your child's application, select Create Parent Account, followed by the steps to Create Student Account.

When seeking admission for more than one child, individual applications and student accounts are required for each prospective student under the applicable grade desired.

Processing times vary per application and are subject to admission eligibility and availability. From immediate openings to waitlist placement, preparing important documents (birth certificates, immunization forms, educational records, etc.) to upload may assist in expediting the process. 

Step 3: Evaluating Records

Once we've received your student's application, we will begin requesting any applicable records throughout their educational journey. 
 

Step 4: Interview & Assessment

As soon as the available records are approved to proceed, we will schedule an interview and screening with each child to assess their interests, abilities, and academic comprehension. 

Step 5: Enroll

If space allows and your student is accepted to Tennessee Christian, our admissions team will send an official Letter of Acceptance, followed by the enrollment paperwork become our newest Hawk!

 

 


Application Requirements


Application Documentation
 ￮  Photographs of the Applicant and each Parent/Custodial Guardian
 ￮  Applicant's Birth Certificate and Social Security Card
 ￮  Applicant's most recent Immunization and Health Records (or Vaccination Exemption Form)
 ￮  Applicant's supporting documents for accommodations, evaluations, and/or diagnoses
 ￮  Other records such as parenting plans, proof of guardianship, education declarations, etc. (if applicable)
 ￮  Driver's License of the Applicant and each Parent/Custodial Guardian
 ￮  $75 Application Fee must be submitted upon completing the online application

Academic Documentation
 ￮  All Applicants: Applicable recommendations and records will be requested from all current and previous schools, homeschooling umbrellas, and/or childcare facilities.
 ￮  All 1st-12th Grade Applicants: Records should encompass the complete student file, including grades, standardized test scores, transcripts, attendance records and behavioral reports.

Interviews & Assessments
 ￮  Our admissions process is intentionally holistic, considering both the student and the family to ensure a strong “right fit” and a successful partnership between school and home.
 ￮  Preschool Applicants: Our screenings serve as a playdate drop-off style (typically 2 hours long) to spend time with the student, introduce ourselves and our teachers, build connections and meet peers, explore the classroom, and ensure the applicant is excited about the potential opportunity to join Tennessee Christian's Learning Cottage.
 ￮  Lower-Upper School Applicants: Invited applicants will spend time (approximately 60-90 minutes) with a member of our Admissions Committee to explore interests, assess abilities, and determine academic comprehension.

 ￮  The basis of our school community is the Bible, the infallible Word of God.
 ￮  Each parent and student's personal commitment to continuing to grow their foundation of faith.
 ￮  The willingness of each family to build a Christ-centered partnership with the school.
 ￮  To support the mission and participate in the Christian education of my child.
 ￮  Exemplify Christian principles in your home, social engagements and all virtual or social platforms.
 ￮  Model a heart of service and gratitude on campus and throughout the community.

Academic
 ￮  Documented record of acceptable grades throughout the applicant's academic experience.
 ￮  Acceptable scores on achievement tests and/or academic assessments
 ￮  The desire of each student to develop, engage, and grow in our academic rigor. 
 ￮  An essential component of the admissions process is the student screening.
 ￮  Through our screenings, an applicant’s overall well-being and readiness are evaluated to best determine if the partnership between family and school can be established.

Behavioral
 ￮  All students who seek to transfer to Tennessee Christian must be in good standing at their former school before being admitted to Tennessee Christian.
 ￮  Tennessee Christian may not accept students who have been suspended, expelled, or asked to withdraw from their former schools.
 ￮  History of acceptable citizenship in the previous school experience.
 ￮  Agreement of parents and student(s) to abide by the behavior standards established by Tennessee Christian.
 ￮  Understanding that admission to Tennessee Christian is a privilege, not a right.
